The Mt Holland project consists of a mine, concentrator, aerodrome, accommodation village and supporting infrastructure. The project is centered on the Earl Grey hard-rock Lithium deposit South of Southern Cross, approximately 500 km East of Perth, Western Australia.
Primero was involved in an Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) programme which was subsequently followed by a Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED) phase. Once the project had its final approvals the remaining works were awarded as an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract.
SCOPE:
- Primary and Secondary Crushing circuit.
- Coarse Ore Stockpile reclaim and Tertiary Crushing circuit, including High Pressure Grinding Roller (HPGR).
- Dense Media Separation (DMS).
- Grinding and Classification.
- Magnetic Separation.
- Froth Flotation and Hydroflot.
- Concentrate Thickening and Filtration.
- Grid power connection inclusive of Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM).
- Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI), which includes administration offices, ablutions, sewage systems, workshops, stores, training facilities, and laboratories.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- The collaborative ECI phase provided a good scope definition including optimisation of design and procurement of long-lead items.
- Primero is the sole major contractor at the site with all works being performed from bulk earthwork through to commissioning.
- Demonstrates breadth of capability from design and construction to commissioning of mineral processing facility plus all NPI and services inclusive of water and power.
