Primero Welcomes Nine New Apprentices for 2021

On Monday, 8 March, we welcomed nine new apprentices to the team as our 2021 intake.

The four year training program will see our cohort gain practical experience in the field as well as training and guidance from experienced mentors.

Hitting the ground running, the apprentices have been assigned a project site where they will begin their apprenticeship journey with Primero. Those who have not yet had exposure to the mining industry will see out their first few weeks at our Bibra Lake-based office in Perth to ensure they have the support needed and are fully prepared for site life.

The 2021 cohort will join the five other existing apprentices within Primero.

During their induction on Monday, we introduced our newest apprentices to the Primero way of life, emphasizing the importance of mental health and our safety culture. We discussed expectations from both ends, and the importance of speaking out if assistance is needed.

The apprentices hired make up a variety of trades including electrical, mechanical fitting, boiler making and plumbing.

Four out of the nine new apprentices are joining us from existing employment with Primero as Trade Assistants – we are proud to offer all of our employees exciting career progression opportunities.

Congratulations to our successful applicants, we look forward to seeing them strive towards a rewarding career in the mining and resources industry!

Applications for our 2022 Apprenticeship Program will open late 2021.
