Primero Goes Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Throughout October, our teams in Australia showed their support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in more ways than one.

It was great to see all staff get involved in one way or another and is just another fabulous example of the passion, generosity and positive team culture those employed at Primero exude.

IN THE OFFICE

On Friday, 16 October, our Perth office staff hosted a Pink Ribbon Breakfast to raise funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

In the lead up to the breakfast, employees and their associates had the opportunity to donate online to our fundraising page set up with the Foundation, or purchase raffle tickets in office for the chance to win 1 of 3 Visa gift cards!

A fabulous contribution by all staff for an important cause, we raised $949 in raffle ticket sales and a further $739 online – totalling an impressive $1,688!!

ONSITE

Primero’s various teams onsite also showed their monumental support by sporting pink Hi-Vis to generate awareness about this important cause.

Further to this, our teams located at Rio Tinto’s Mesa J and Mesa K sites did their own rallying for funds to put towards the Company’s overall total for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, finishing up on a grand total of $4,217.30!! A HUGE effort by all involved.

Our teams onsite at Rio Tinto’s Gudai-Darri (formerly Koodaideri) project also came together to show their support and raise funds in a relatively short timeframe, raising a total of $1,614.80.

Overall, we raised a staggering $7,520.10!!

Thanks to all staff who made a donation, dressed up in pink and came along to our Pink Ribbon Breakfast in support of raising vital funds for research into the effective prevention, detection and treatment of breast cancer.
