Primero is pleased to advise that we have today, Monday 30 November 2020, been announced a member of the McGowan Government’s Future Battery Industry Strategy Ministerial taskforce.
Primero and various other mining companies, industry bodies and union groups comprise the taskforce, which will actively explore local and global opportunities to grow Western Australia’s critical minerals industry. The formation will broaden the government’s focus to include opportunities put forward by critical and rare earth minerals, as well as to ensure the State’s capabilities are identified in the battery and critical minerals supply chain space.
Managing Director, Cameron Henry, said, “It’s a privilege to be a part of the taskforce and represent WA’s battery and critical minerals industry, and to contribute in positioning our state as a global leader in this space which will ultimately boost local jobs, impart skill development and benefit regional communities.“
