From the conception of a private small business in 2011, through to an ASX listed global company in 2018, to a wholly owned subsidiary of one of the leading service contractors in Australia in 2021 – Primero’s first decade in operation certainly hasn’t been slow.
We’re exceptionally proud to be celebrating our 10th anniversary this year, officially marked on 21 March 2021. The loyal support we have received from our clients and the hardworking ethos of our employees have each contributed to the success of Primero as it is today.
10 years ago, we set out on a journey to do what we love – to design, construct and commission. Since then, we’ve not only experienced year on year growth and recognition among our long-established peers, but we have also built a fantastic culture and infectious team who truly drive our success. We have also expanded our offering to include operations – Design, Construct & Operate!
Reflecting on the past 10 years of Primero, we still remember our humble beginnings like they were yesterday – our first design project at APA’s Mondarra Gas Storage Facility in 2011, our first construction project at Empire Oil & Gas’ Red Gulley project in 2013, and our first underground mining contract at IGO’s Nova Nickel mine (just to name a few!).
2017 saw the birth of Primero Americas, and our expansion into the global market. A year later we listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) where we continued to experience strong financial growth and recognition as a global leader in EPC projects.
But perhaps one of the most significant turning points for Primero in the past decade was the culmination of hard work, positioning and strategic thinking realised with the announcement of a takeover bid for Primero, launched by NRW Holdings. In February 2021, Primero officially delisted from the ASX to become a wholly owned subsidiary of the contracting entity and spearhead its Minerals, Energy and Technologies (MET) division.
It’s safe to say that memories have been made, challenges overcome, opportunities grasped, and life-long relationships forged under the blue stripe family.
We look forward to many more decades of success, bleeding blue, and our new journey with NRW Holdings.
